Three footnotes worth knowing. India labels this tier “Premium Standard” on Spotify’s own page even though it is the entry Individual-equivalent price. Argentina’s figure moved repeatedly over recent years as the peso slid — older articles still quote numbers under $2, which no longer match the live listing. Will a VPN alone get me the Nigeria price?
No. This is where most “cheapest country” lists quietly mislead you. A VPN changes what your browser looks like, not what your money looks like. Spotify bills based on your account country and requires a payment method issued in that same country — support pages state it directly, and community threads going back years document the exact error: “Your payment method and country don’t match.”
In September 2025, Spotify went further and rewrote its terms: accounts must be created in your country of residence, priced at that residence’s rate, with an explicit clause against using tools like a VPN to obtain another region’s price (reported by tech-ish, Sept 22, 2025). Spotify told Android Authority (2024) that a VPN by itself will not get an account banned — but the payment wall makes that mostly academic. You cannot reach the checkout, let alone keep it.
