What no longer exists matters just as much. The famous Back to School campaign that handed out 12 free months of Pro to anyone with a .edu email ran through 2024–2025 and expired in early 2026. The PayPal/Venmo bundle that included a free year of Pro with early Comet access died on December 31, 2025. Several blogs still rank those offers as if they were live — they are not.

Every single storefront we checked costs more than double the Education Pro rate. Even Pakistan, the cheapest country on our whole board at $17.69, cannot touch $10. - Back to School free-year campaign: ended. The old signup pages now redirect toward the education program.
- PayPal/Venmo free-year bundle: expired December 31, 2025.
- Give-a-month-get-a-month referrals: wound down in October 2025, though Perplexity still runs rotating partner promotions documented in its help center — worth checking before you pay full price for month one.
