One warning before you chase that number: some ranking sites still list Egypt as the cheapest at around $0.40 a month. That figure does not match Apple’s live Egyptian storefront today, which charges EGP 189.99 — about $3.77. If a site will not show you a verification date, treat its table as decoration.

Notice how steep the cliff is. Only five countries land under $5. Everything from Canada up pays within a dollar or two of the US price — Canada is actually cheaper than most of Europe, where the same Pro subscription runs $11–13 after currency conversion.
Can a VPN get you the cheaper Photoroom price?
Short answer: a VPN alone gets you nothing here.
A VPN changes which network you appear to come from. It does not change the country on your payment method, and on mobile it does not change your Apple ID’s store country either. The App Store serves prices based on your account’s registered country — set once, deliberately, with a local address — not on today’s IP address.
So the real sequence people use is:

Route 2 — the web app, which almost nobody mentions. Photoroom sells subscriptions directly at photoroom.com through Stripe. Its help center states the web version accepts “most major credit cards and debit cards,” while mobile payments go through Apple or Google (help article checked August 2026).
