No other country comes close to Nigeria. Blinkist Premium costs ₦4,000$2.96 — against $15.99 in the United States, verified August 29, 2026. That is roughly 81% off, or about $156 saved over a year if the gap holds. The full board, every country we have dated rows for, lives at Blinkist prices by country.

One honest caveat before you get excited: this table tracks the monthly in-app price on each country’s Apple App Store. Blinkist also sells subscriptions on its own website, where annual plans dominate — different prices, different billing. Both paths are covered below.

Every row was checked the same way, on the same day, against Apple’s public catalog for each storefront — no forum screenshots, no “someone said”.

Will a VPN get me the Nigeria price?

Not by itself, and this is where most guides mislead you.

A VPN changes which page loads in your browser. It does not change your Apple ID’s country, and it cannot mint a Nigerian payment method. Blinkist in-app purchases bill through whichever App Store account you are signed into — the storefront follows the account, not your IP. Switching an Apple ID’s home country requires a local address and a payment method valid in that store, and Apple limits how often you can switch back.

There is also a terms risk: accounts that hop regions can be closed, and Blinkist is within its rights to do that. If you still go down this road, never move an account whose library you cannot afford to lose, and confirm the currency shown at the final billing screen before you tap buy.

For most readers, the realistic saving without touching regions is simpler: use the web checkout’s annual plan instead of paying month-to-month in-app.

How do I actually pay for Blinkist?

You have two genuinely different routes, and they price differently:

1. The website (blinkist.com). Blinkist’s own checkout accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and PayPal, per their official payment pages (accessed August 2026). This is the friendliest path if you are outside the top-ten cheap countries: any reasonably international card works, no storefront games needed. Annual Premium lists around $99.99/year in the US as of August 2026, with intro discounts common. Web purchases come with a 14-day money-back guarantee.

2. The app (what our table measures). In-app Premium bills through Apple. For the Nigeria row specifically, that means an Apple ID set to NG; App Store credit loaded in that storefront can cover the charge, and Apple Pay plus local cards worked on our dated check.

Method Website In-app (dated row)
Visa / Mastercard / Amex Yes Yes
PayPal Yes No
Apple Pay Not documented Yes
Google Play gift card No on the dated row
App Store credit Yes

General payment mechanics, including the gift-card traps, are covered in how to pay.

So what should you actually do?

Three cases, honestly sorted:

  • You just want cheaper Blinkist, no tricks: buy the annual plan on the website with your normal card. Around $8.33/month equivalent versus $15.99 monthly — that is a real 48% cut available to anyone, anywhere, today.
  • You live in one of the cheap-storefront countries: your app store already shows the local price. Just subscribe there; no VPN needed because it is your storefront.
  • You were considering region-hopping to Nigeria: know that the $2.96 row is real but the setup cost — new Apple ID, storefront credit, ban risk, renewal friction — eats most of the benefit for most people. And note that even the legit web annual deal ($79.99–$99.99) beats every storefront except Nigeria, Pakistan, Egypt, and India.

Prices here were last verified August 29, 2026. Blinkist reprices storefronts periodically, so treat any figure older than a couple of months as stale until re-checked.
