Full tables: CapCut and Filmora.

Are these the same product?

No. CapCut is the short-form default — templates, captions, the TikTok-adjacent effects library. Filmora is the YouTube/desktop editor with a more traditional timeline. Plenty of people use both. The subscription should follow the timeline you actually open, not the app that was preinstalled in a YouTube thumbnail.

CapCut has had account and regional-availability drama in some countries; we date prices, not geopolitics. If the app will not sign you in, the cheap IAP row is trivia.

Where each one is genuinely cheap

CapCut: Philippines, Pakistan, Indonesia, Turkey — the $8 band. Then it overshoots the US in the UK, Hungary, and Poland. Regional pricing here is a two-tailed distribution.

Filmora: Canada $9.36, Turkey $9.39, Indonesia $9.48, then a tight cluster around $10–$14. It does not explode to $40. That stability is the product for expensive App Stores.

How do you actually pay for each one?

Apple ID on the rows we date. Web billing may exist (especially Filmora/Wondershare). In-app is the default trap on iPhone. Cancel in iOS Settings.

What a VPN can and cannot do here

It cannot turn a Polish CapCut tier into a Philippine one. Skip it.

The bottom line

US and UK: Filmora is the cheaper Pro plan, by a lot in the UK. Philippines, Pakistan, Indonesia, Turkey: CapCut. Cheapest verified country overall: CapCut, $7.76 versus $9.36. Check the board for your row before you install the wrong “everyone uses this” editor.
